Q: Is sexual intercourse every night beneficial for the people suffering from hypertension? A: I have never seen a clinical study recommending daily sexual intercourse as a treatment for high blood pressure although studies have shown that older adults believe that quality of life is enhanced with sex. During the act of intercourse, blood pressure rises and peaks with climax. Following orgasm, blood pressure returns to normal for the individual. The physical activity associated with having sex increases the risk of a heart attack in those who are physically inactive.
