How Cardura Reduces Blood Pressure Cardura XL (doxazosin) is one of a class of blood pressure medication called Alpha Adrenergic Blockers or Alpha Blockers. Alpha blockers cause the blood vessels (veins and arteries) to relax and expand, which allows blood to pass more easily through them.
